Autumn Colours: a Watercolours Workshop

I recently held a botanical art class at Forty Hall, exploring autumn colour.  Nine workshop participants came along for the weekend to develop their painting skills and to complete studies of autumnal colour.

Forty Hall is located within a beautiful estate so we collected conkers, holly and berries and fallen autumn leaves from the grounds as our subject matter.

Throughout the weekend we looked at measuring up a still life, drawing to scale, creating compositions, tonal washes and adding watercolour layers and detail.

The studies created were fantastic with lots of participants benefiting from the 2 day course as a way to take their studies further.

I release announcements about workshops and classes via my monthly newsletter.  To sign up for this, head to the bottom of the website.
