Wedding Stationery FAQs

We're undecided on the detail of our wedding plans. Is this a problem?
Not at all and this is a common question from couples! At the point of sending save-the-date cards sometimes very little is confirmed for the wedding other than the date itself and the venue. At our initial consultation we will discuss the vision you have for your wedding. I might encourage you to set-up a Pinterest board, come back to you with some research images or ask a series of questions to help shape that with you.
We have a clear idea already for our wedding, can you help us?
Of course, simply share your brief with me and I'll work to that!
What are the benefits of bespoke/personalised wedding stationery?
There are plenty! First of all, you have full control over the look and feel of the end product, which is uniquely yours. Secondly, personalised wedding stationery really helps to shape the day itself by helping to define themes, brands, colours and flower choices early on. Finally, personalised wedding stationery is extra-special and memorable - you even get to keep the original illustrations to frame at home as keepsakes after the wedding.
What wedding stationery do you offer?
Everything! I can offer the full suite of wedding stationery or you can choose to pick selected products, depending on how formal or informal your wedding will be.
The full suite of stationery includes; Engagement Party Invitations, Be My Bridesmaid Cards, Hen Party Invitations, Save the Date Cards, Wedding Invitations, RSPV Cards, Belly Bands, Direction Information, Evening Invitations/Afters Invites, Wedding Events Itinerary Insert, Order of Service, Wedding Programme, Table Plan, Place Cards, Table Numbers, Table Names, Menus, Wedding Favour Tags, Signage, Wedding Guest Book, Thank you Cards, Wedding Announcements and Change of Address Cards.
The possibilities are endless - I have been asked for beer labels and bunting - so it's entirely up to you!
What happens with the printing, do we do that ourselves?
Normally I organise all of your printing for you. I will advise on print specifications, liaise with the printer with regards to artwork requirements, organise and check proofs and schedule delivery dates. Many couples find that this service helps to eliminate any unnecessary stress. If you so wish, artwork can be sent to you directly for you to organise your own printer locally.
What are your prices?
Bespoke wedding stationery prices vary according to the complexity of the design, number of illustration, number of products required and print quantities. I charge a fee for initial ideas after a consultation and a separate design fee. Printing costs are charged in addition to this if you decide that you would like for me to handle the printing. The best way to get a sense of costs is to contact me directly to discuss your individual requirements.
How far in advance should we book?
I always advise the earlier the better. Save the Date cards should be sent 6 - 8 months before the wedding day and wedding invitations 2 - 4 months beforehand. Much of the on-the-day wedding stationery should be completed as far in advance as possibly (ideally 1 - 2 months) so that you are free to concentrate on other aspects of your wedding day. As a minimum I require a lead-in time of 8 weeks to ensure timely delivery of design and print.
How many proofs do we get?
You will receive two digital prints for each product; a first proof inviting any amends and checks and a final digital proof thereafter, which I will ask you to sign-off. I also encourage couples to consider print proofs - certainly for the save-the-date and invitation - to ensure that the quality is perfect. There is a small additional charge for this but it is worth it for peace of mind and to make small changes that aren't always picked up on a digital proof.
What is your experience in weddings?
I have been creating wedding stationery for couples since 2013. I previously organised weddings as a day job so I am well-versed in the finer detail of wedding planning. This lends itself well to working with couples and designing their wedding stationery.
